Order sections

Keep your orders neat and tidy with order sections! This feature lets you group your orders in a way that makes sense for your business, whether you’re running a restaurant, café, or any other type of business that takes orders.

Order Section Groups

Think of order section groups as your main categories. For example, a restaurant might create groups for each floor or dining area, while a café might create groups for indoor and outdoor seating.

To create a new order section group:

  1. Click the ”+ New order section group” button.
  2. Give your group a name that reflects its purpose (e.g., “First Floor,” “Patio”).
  3. Choose a grid size that will accommodate the number of order sections you need.

Pro Tip: Use smaller groups to avoid overwhelming screens, especially on mobile devices.

Customize your group with these options:

OptionDescription
Disable service chargeAutomatically turn off service charges for orders in this group.
Keep openKeep orders open even after payment, useful for payment-before-seating setups.
Default payment typeSet a preferred payment method for orders in this group.
Order limit timeSpecify a maximum amount of minutes before a warming will be shown.
Custom colorMake the order section group more recognizable for your staff.
Default order tagsSpecify what order tags should automatically be enabled for order created in this Order section group.

Order Sections

Order sections are the individual units within each group, like tables in a restaurant or seating areas in a café.

To create a new order section:

  1. Select an order section group.
  2. Click the ”+ Add section” button.
  3. Name your section (e.g., “Table 4,” “Lounge Area”).
  4. Set a maximum number of customers if applicable.
  5. Choose a default payment type.
  6. Set a default payment type for this order section.
  7. Enable Order limit time to show a warning after a number of minutes has passed since the order was created.

Easy Management:

  • Drag and drop sections to rearrange them within the grid.
  • Edit sections by clicking the pencil icon.
  • Delete sections (after settling any open orders) by clicking the trash can icon.
